“Like most participants, my attraction to facilitating this workshop grew out of experiences of personal grief and a desire to explore the mystery of my own inevitable death. Most recently and pointedly the death of my wife less than two years ago immersed me not only in her loss but led me back to earlier and still for me in many ways unresolved deaths of my parents–my father when I was 14, my mother seven years ago. And at the core of this journey: my own mortality. I’m grateful for the opportunity to bring my skills as an artist and art teacher to creating a space and more than that a sharing and supportive community where I can join others in deep and yet playful discoveries– together making friends with death and thus making life richer and more vital.” – Noah Baen
